Residents of Talania, the native village of Simranjit Singh Mann, burst into celebration as the SAD (A) president won the Sangrur Lok Sabha byelection. They danced to the tune of dhols and distributed sweets at the party’s head office.

Shingara Singh Badla, district president of SAD(A), Randev Singh, youth leader, said the victory had enthused the party workers and now they were looking forward to SGPC elections so that the gurdwaras could be liberated from the Badal family and the “Golak” could be spent on the Sangat and not just on few individuals. He said the youth of the state had played an important role in this victory and hoped the party would fare better in future elections.

The SAD (A)’s head office is situated in Kila Harnam Dass, the residence of Mann, near Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
