Nafe Singh Rathi’s son receives threat calls

The son of INLD state chief and two-time former MLA Nafe Singh Rathi today received multiple threat calls over the phone, forcing Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala to direct the police to take swift action into the matter.

Jitender, Rathi’s son, has also filed a complaint with the Bahadurgarh police in this respect. “We have started investigation after registering a case against an unknown person under Section 506, IPC,” said Inspector Vinod, SHO, City Police Station. Sources said Jitender also received a threat call when Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda and others were visiting Rathi’s house to offer condolences.

Meanwhile, the police have started the process to question those named in the FIR in connection with Rathi’s murder. “Former chairman of the Bahadurgarh Municipal Council, Bijendra Rathi, one of the 15 accused in the case, has been issued a notice for questioning while other accused will be interrogated in coming days,” said the SP.

The police have not yet reached a conclusion about a post uploaded in the name of notorious gangster Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu, last evening, claiming that they had got Rathi killed as he was a friend of another notorious gangster.

As per police investigation, the post was uploaded on Facebook and Instagram after creating a new account, but was later deleted. It had gone viral.
