Chandigarh, August 21

A viral video of a young woman on a very busy street in Pakistan being harassed and forcibly kissed by a stranger is the latest to draw outrage in the country days after a woman Tiktoker was molested and assaulted by hordes of men at Minar-e-Pakistan on the day of the country’s Independence Day.

The latest video shows a man come up to the young woman who was in a slow-moving rickshaw with her family—an older woman and a young boy—as their rickshaw wound its way through heavy traffic.

The video, shot by a stranger in a few vehicles behind the rickshaw, shows two women and a child travelling in an open rickshaw and looking frightened and harassed because of the continuous catcalls, leering, and whistling from motorists behind them.

A few seconds late, a strange man steps onto the rickshaw and bends over the young woman, and then steps off before the shocked women could more than gasp in horror. The person shooting the video is heard saying: “He forcibly kissed her”.

The video shows the young woman’s companion pick up her footwear in warning as another man heads toward them amid cheering and jeering from men around them, and the shocked and angry young woman tries to get off, but the second woman pushes her back onto her seat in great agitation.

The video, shot at night on the crowded streets of Lahore, has drawn outrage on Twitter.
