Maryam Sharif booked for holding anti-Pak govt rally

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter and Opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's vice-president Maryam Nawaz was on Tuesday booked along with over 2,000 party members for holding an anti-government rally in Lahore, where she called Prime Minister Imran Khan a "coward and puppet" who hides behind the Army.

The rally by the 11-member opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was held on October 16 before the Gujranwala public meeting. Maryam openly called Prime Minister Khan a "coward and puppet" at the rally, saying he hid behind the Army to cover up his 'nalaaiki' (bad governance). — PTI

Sharif’s brother jailed for money laundering

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif was sent to jail on Tuesday in a money laundering case. Shehbaz, the younger brother of three-time former PM Nawaz Sharif, was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau on September 28 after a court rejected his bail application in the Rs700 crore money laundering case.
