NEW DELHI, JULY 4

The foreign offices of India and China are attempting to schedule a meeting between Foreign Ministers S Jaishankar and Wang Yi in an attempt to break the stalemate in ties due to border-related tensions.

The meeting in Indonesia on the sidelines of the G20 summit is planned shortly after the new Indian Ambassador in Beijing has called on Wang.

However, Wang made the same formulation that he had stated during his March 25 visit to Delhi. Wang stressed that common interests between the sides far outweighed their differences. India and China should put the boundary dispute in a “proper position in bilateral relations and seek solutions through dialogue and consultation”, he reiterated.
