Washington, January 23

The US Senate will begin the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump on February 8, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said.

“The Jan 6 insurrection at the Capitol, incited by Trump, was a day none of us will ever forget... healing and unity will only come if there is truth, accountability. That’s what this trial will provide,” Schumer said on the Senate floor.
