After the success of Kala Shah Kala, Sargun Mehta and Binnu Dhillon have come together for yet another movie. We are well-versed with Binnu’s acting, the madness that it brings on screen and now Sargun too jumps into this laughter-ride with their second movie of the year Jhalle.

Sargun, who worked for seven years in television, is now one of the front-runner actresses in Punjabi cinema. So, does she desire to work on web series anytime soon, and she says, “The medium I am working on has never really mattered. It’s all about approaching the craft with freshness every time. It’s the same reason why I decided to work in Punjabi movies while everyone around me was discouraging. For them, to work in regional cinema and leaving national television did not make sense.” Having worked with all the leading actors of Pollywood, Sargun says she has the best on-screen chemistry with Amrinder Gill. What about off-screen? She quips, “That will definitely be Amy Virk, the guy I worked with for the first time. There’s always a different kind of bond with each actor. In Surkhi Bindi, with Gurnam Bhullar, it was young and vibrant, and with Binnu, it’s about fun and banter.”

Meanwhile, Binnu Dhillon has had back to back films and there are two more projects lined up. But none of this takes away his humility. Binnu opens up about his journey from being a supporting actor to now doing films as the lead hero. “It is now that I am getting so much work, so when someone says it must be getting too overwhelming, all I tell them is that I don’t mind working. The walk from being among the supporting cast to reaching the mainstream has been a long one. And I have no reason to think high of myself or start refusing work. The only thing that has changed after doing few films as lead is that now I first hear the narration of the script. Earlier, I used to just trust the director or producer and sign movies.”

But there surely has been some change on the personal front. “I wasn’t bothered about how I looked, but now I have to follow a certain diet and be conscious about my health. I am working out more and of course concerned about my looks as you have to portray a hero.”
