Vet varsity imparts training in radiology on animals

Ludhiana, January 20

The Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences (GADVASU), organised a training programme on “Systematic interpretation of radiographs for veterinary practitioners” for 15 veterinary practitioners/surgeons from Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat.

The training was funded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Jitender Mohindroo, head of the department, said the training was conducted under the human resource development component of the All-India Network Project on “Diagnostic imaging and management of surgical conditions in animals”. Since 2018, the department has been organising short-training programmes on various aspects to upgrade skills of veterinary practitioners.

This training course was designed to meet the objective of accurate interpretation of radiographs in small animals. Lectures and hands-on practice on the various aspects of veterinary radiology were delivered by the faculty and experts of the department. —TNS
