UP couple decides to end life by jumping together in river; man ditches woman at last moment, booked for ‘murder bid’

Couples try to find numerous reasons to live together but also sometimes take strenuous decision to end life together, especially in cases they find it difficult to forecast a future together. A bizarre incident has been reported from UP’s Prayagraj where two lovers decided to end their life together by jumping in river Yamuna. However, there is a catch as things didn’t went as per plan and the man panicked at the very decisive point, leaving the girl alone to jump in the river.

As per a report of Indiatimes, the girl is married and has a six-year-old daughter. She had been in relationship with Chandu for almost seven years. She travelled to Pune with her daughter and came back after some time only to find out that Chandu got married in the meantime. The woman was agitated to find this and hence an ugly brawl broke between the two. Chandu promised her that he will divorce his wife and get married to her.

However, things weren’t as easy as they seem. Worked up by perpetual fights and unrest in their lives, both decided to end their lives together. Date and time was fixed to commit suicide together by jumping in river Yamuna from the bridge.

When the couple was on the edge of bridge to execute their plan on May 29, the man turned hostile at the last moment due to fright and decided not to jump. The woman in the course had already jumped thinking his partner too would follow.

The woman, shocked at disloyalty, swam out and got an FIR registered against her partner.

Since the woman knew how to swim, she decided not to die and avenge the betrayal of her partner. Local police authorities arrived at the spot and admitted the woman to a hospital.

The police said that an investigation is going on, and officer Santosh Singh said an FIR has been lodged against Chandu for attempt to murder and damage caused to the woman’s mobile.
