Chandigarh, January 25

An offering of Rs 3.17 crore was made online to Ram Lalla on the first day after the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony.

Anil Mishra, trustee of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said 10 donation counters had been opened on the day of Pran Pratishtha. Besides, many devotees from across the world sent online donations to Lord Ram.

According to Mishra, more than five lakh devotees visited the temple on Tuesday and an equal number on Wednesday.

As the donations continue, as per information available on the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust website, spiritual leader Morari Bapu has donated Rs 11.3 crore towards the Ram Temple's development, the highest so far.

His followers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom have individually contributed an additional Rs 8 crore, making it a total of Rs 19.3 crore from the organisation.

Others who stand out individually are Dilip Kumar V Lakhi and his family, well-known diamond merchants hailing from Surat. Their exceptional act of generosity encompasses a gift of 101 kg of gold, a total donation estimated at around Rs 68 crore. The gold will be utilised to embellish the doors, sanctum sanctorum, trishul, damaru and pillars of the mandir.

Gujarat's diamond baron Govindbhai Dholakia donated Rs 11 crore.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust website specifies that the Central government recognises the site as a place of historic importance and public worship, making donations eligible for deduction under Section 80G(2)(b) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
