Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala — who was shot dead in Mansa on Sunday — had recently sung a song: “he would die at young age” in his track titled ‘The Last ride’, which was written by Sidhu Moosewala himself. Sidhu writes that his funeral possession would be taken out in his young age. The lyrics are “Chobbar De Chehre Utte Noor Dassda Ni Ehda Uthuga Jawani Ch Janaja (funeral procession) Mithiye. Minutes after his death, the song ‘The Last Ride’ is being widely shared by his followers on social media expressing deep shock over his death.

In another track titled ‘Everybody Hurts’ in his latest album No Name, Sidhu – in his song – was feeling lonely and had suicidal thoughts in his mind. In the same long, in the last stanza, he sings: “Lagda jazbatan da collide ho gaya ae… Menu maaf kari zindagi suicide ho gaya ae”

Notably, born on June 17, 1993, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala, gained popularity with his song ‘So High’ which was released in 2017.  Thereafter, he released his debut album PBX 1 in 2018, which peaked at 66th on Billboard Canadian Albums chart. Sidhu had a huge fan following.

Controversies

In 2019, Moose Wala released the song ‘Jatti Jeonay Morh Di Bandook Wargi,’ which landed in controversy due to a reference to the 18th-century Sikh warrior Mai Bhago. He was accused of casting the Sikh warrior in a negative light, for which he later apologised.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, a video of Moose Wala went viral which allegedly showed him firing with an AK-47 rifle in a firing range with some police officer. After the incident, he was later booked under two sections of the arms act and was widely criticized for promoting gun culture.

Last month, Sidhu Moose Wala landed in a controversy after he attacked the Aam Aadmi Party and its supporters in his song ‘Scapegoat’. The singer had termed AAP supporters ‘gaddar’ (traitor) in his song.
