The division number 2 police have failed to make any headway in a major loot case in which Rs 9.67 lakh was looted from a scrap dealer in Vijay Nagar.
The police is said to have rounded up some suspects in the case for questioning, but so far nothing concrete came out.
After the incident, the police had formed special teams to check the footage of CCTV cameras. So far, the police have reportedly checked the footage of around 150 CCTV cameras to get a clue to the suspects. “Some suspects have been rounded up and they are being questioned,” a senior police official said.
On Friday night, three armed robbers had looted Rs 9.67 lakh from a scrap dealer, Shailesh Tiwari, a resident of Jassian Road, Haibowal. Sources said one of the workers of the scrap trader had left job about a month back when the owner had arguments with him. The police suspected that he could be behind the crime and his call details were being scanned by the police.
