Supporters of Khadoor Sahib MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki on Monday protested at the local Sadar police station for registering a case against Kanwal Singh, Harman Singh, Dilbag Singh Lali and three unidentified persons, all supporters of Sikki. The case was registered under Sections 452, 324, 148,149 of the IPC. The scuffle took place at Shahbazpur village, 20 km from here, on Sunday.

Harman Singh was injured in the incident. Jarmanjit Singh, personal assistant(PA) to MLA Sikki, who led the party workers, alleged that Harman Singh was nominated as accused. Sikki alleged after scuffle Harman was admitted to the local Civil Hospital.

Ravinderpal Singh, DSP, Goindwal Sahib, said the police had registered a case as per law. The DSP alleged Jarmanjit Singh, PA to the MLA, had been pressuring the police to register a case against other persons too.

By late evening, a compromised was reached between both the parties. Infighting in the Congress was said to be the reason behind the scuffle. Earlier, Bhupinder Singh Bittu, a close confidant of Congress MP Jasbir Singh Dimpa, had criticised MLA Sikki over the Shabazpur village common land dispute.
