Ludhiana, January 19
As part of an initiative to boost the morale of jawans performing relentlessly at borders and to make the future generation responsible to pay their taxes on time so that income generated through taxes serves the nation in a better way, the Income Tax Department organised an activity, “School Se Sarhad Tak”.
This initiative taken by Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, Biney Kumar Jha is a way to offer encouragement to jawans serving the country. It is not restricted to Ludhiana alone. Students from around 2,200 schools across the country are keen to extend their best wishes to soldiers manning the country’s borders.
IFS officer Juhi Jalota, posted at Madrid, said she would request all Indians working in Madrid Embassy to ask their children to express their gratitude towards the selfless service of valiant soldiers by sending cards.
“This year, the very first card is received from a nursery class student studying in Gurugram, who has also requested that if possible, she would like to see the soldier who received this card. These are small gestures that will certainly make a big difference,” said Jha.
The Indian Armed Forces have thanked the I-T Department for this gesture.
