The Delhi Police today said that it has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of two-time Olympics medalist Sushil Kumar and Rs 50,000 for his associate Ajay Kumar in connection with the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl that led to the death of another wrestler. Last week, a Delhi court had issued non-bailable warrants against Sushil and six others in connection with the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl. TNS

CA reaches out to Bancroft over ball-tampering revelation

Melbourne: Cricket Australia (CA) has asked batsman Cameron Bancroft if he has new information on the 2018 Cape Town ball-tampering scandal in the wake of his suggestion that the team’s bowlers were aware of the wrongdoing. The former Test opener was banned for nine months for his role in the incident, dubbed “Sandpapergate”, while then-captain Steve Smith and his deputy David Warner were stripped of their leadership positions and suspended for a year. A CA investigation at the time cleared the rest of the team and support staff of wrongdoing or knowledge of the plan to alter the condition of the ball, but Bancroft suggested that was not the case in interview on Friday.

Sydney: Former Australian captain Michael Clarke won’t be surprised if it comes to light that more players were aware of the ball-tampering plot. IPL’s Aussies arrive in Sydney

Sydney: The Australian players, coaches and commentary staff who were part of the suspended IPL arrived here today from the Maldives and will be in quarantine for 14 days. The cricketers had gone from India to the Maldives after the suspension of the tournament as the Australian government had imposed a travel ban on travellers from India due to the Covid-19 situation in the country. On arrival here today, the group was escorted by police to quarantine hotels across Sydney, according to reports.
