Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets in their Indian Premier League match here on Friday.

Chasing a target of 149, MI completed the job with opener Quinton de Kock playing a fine innings of 78 off 44 balls.

Earlier, KKR's pace spearhead Pat Cummins top-scored with an unbeaten 36-ball 53 while new captain Eoin Morgan remained not out on 39 off 29 balls to push the total to 148.

Kolkata Knight Riders made two changes in their team, replacing opener Tom Banton and pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti with mystery spinner Chris Green and speedster Shivam Mavi.

Mumbai Indians played Nathan Coulter-Nile in place of James Pattinson.
