Pallekele, July 7

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Pooja Vastrakar produced impressive all-round performances as India cantered to a 39-run victory over a clueless Sri Lanka in the final ODI today to complete a 3-0 rout.

Kaur (75 off 88 balls) and Vastrakar (56 not out off 65 balls) bailed the team out with a 97-run seventh wicket stand that ensured a decent total of 255/9 for the visitors. The bowlers then executed the plan perfectly to take out the hosts for 216 in 47.3 overs, with both Kaur (1/21) and Vastrakar (2/32) chipping in with crucial breakthroughs.

With this series win, India clinched their fourth consecutive bilateral ODI series against Sri Lanka, after wins in 2013, 2015 and 2018.

Brief scores: India: 255/9 (Kaur 75, Vastrakar 56; Ranaweera 2/22, Athapaththu 2/45) vs Sri Lanka: 216 (Nilakshi 48*, Athapaththu 44; Gayakwad 3/36, Vastrakar 2/33) — PTI
