Kerala, NE United share spoils with penalty goals

Kerala Blasters and NorthEast United settled for a 1-1 draw with both the sides scoring from the penalty spot on the either side of half-time in their Indian Super League match. Bartholomew Ogbeche and Asamoah Gyan's penalties cancelled each other out as NorthEast continue their unbeaten run on the road, while Kerala Blasters were left without a win since the opening day of the season. Kerala continued to occupy the ninth position with eight points from 10 matches while NorthEast are seventh with 11 points.

Lifter Seema gets 4-yr ban for doping

Commonwealth Championships silver medallist weightlifter Seema has been slapped with a four-year suspension for a doping violation. In a statement, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) said Seema’s dope sample was collected this year during the 34th Women National Weightlifting Championship in Vishakhapatnam. The analysis report of her sample returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for the presence of a prohibited substance namely Hydroxy-4-methoxy Temoxifen (Metabolite of Tamoxifen), Selective Estrogen Receptor Modular (SERM) Metenolone, Anabolic Steroid Ostarine (Enobosram).

A battling 77 not out from Rory Burns gave England a fighting chance of improbable success as they need 255 more runs for victory in the first Test against South Africa at Centurion Park. Set an imposing 376 runs to win the first of the four-match series, England reached 121/1 at stumps on the third day after a positive start to an enormous task.No team has scored more than 251 to win a Test at the Pretoria venue, where batting last is difficult on a deteriorating pitch, but England defied the odds to keep in the hunt with two days still to bat.
