Two young kids from Delhi NCR become TED speakers

Two young kids from Delhi NCR - Amy Laishram, a Class III student from Delhi and Madhav Agnihotri, a Class X student from Noida, have become TED speakers with their recent talk and are embarking their journey towards becoming future ready.

9-year-old Amy Laishram’s TED talk titled “Always be prepared for inspiration” comes from her belief that inspiration can come from anywhere and it can make one a better person. She was motivated to deliver a TED talk after listening to Charlie Chaplin’s speech and is seen reading stories, singing, talking, and travelling in her free time. She loves to talk and listen to other inspiring speeches and finds happiness in travelling and exploring new places.

The magician Madhav Agnihotri’s TED talk “Always have a trick up your sleeve!” comes from his personal experience. Magic changed his boring quarantine routine and lit up the lives of his family members. By practicing magic tricks he learned that hard work and dedication is the key to success and wants to inspire other young change-makers with his story. Apart from doing magic tricks, Madhav is a passionate about coding and playing ukulele and keyboard. He is passionate about all new things and is seen reflecting these thoughts in his TED Talk.

The kids are part of Camp K12’s English programme, a global online school teaching coding and 21st century skills to K12 students. Camp K12 recently launched its English Communication course which covers fundamental skills such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Spelling, Creative Writing and Public Speaking. Every child in the programme gives TED styled speeches to live audiences, writes and publishes a novel which is available on Amazon and Kindle, participates in international debates, competes in spelling bees, and more. Other students from Camp K12, coming from different parts of the world – across India, Middle East, and South East Asia – have also become TED speakers.
