Modern Public School student, Kashish Lakra on contingent for Tokyo Paralympics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Modern Public School student, Kashish Lakra and other members of the Paralympics contingent heading for Tokyo on August 17. Modi inspired the sportspersons to perform with their heart. 

Kashish Lakra, a student of Class XII of Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi, entered the Indian contingent after setting a new record as India's youngest athlete to qualify for the Paralympics in the Women's Club Throw F51 category. She holds World Rank no  8 in Para athletics -Women's Club Throw F51 category. She has also won a gold medal in the world Para athletics junior championship 2019 in Nottwil, Switzerland and 5th in world para athletics championships, 2019 in Dubai, UAE

Alka Kapur, Principal of MPS, thanked the coach, and she also dubbed Kashish's selection in the National Paralympics team as "a dream come true". 

Kashish gave credit for her accomplishment to the coaches and the school's cutting-edge infrastructure.  She said that they had been trained well and the results are pleasing for everybody alike. The school management is proud of their student who will represent India on the global stage.

The mega sporting event will go underway without any spectators from August 24. TNS
