Labour Day events at schools

Vidya Valley School, Kharar

The school celebrated International Labour Day. Students and staff took part in a virtual special morning assembly. Students were enlightened about how the contribution of labourers to our society and how they are the key components of the growing economy. Each student participated exuberantly in activities of the day namely oration, poster making, writing special note of thanks etc. Teachers encouraged students for their participation. Chairperson Surinder Kaur, Deputy Director Simmerpreet Singh and Principal Dr Suman Lata appreciated the efforts of staff and students.


St Teresa Convent School, Panchkula

Labour Day was celebrated with aplomb. Tiny tots celebrated the day by getting involved in fun-filled craft activity. They made 'Thank You' flowers and cards. Teachers briefed children about Labour Day and its importance. The activity was designed to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts.


KBDAV Senior Secondary Public School, Chandigarh

Students couldn't have picked up a better day to thank and express their gratitude to COVID warriors, especially the doctors, nurses and helpers, who are being overwhelmed by the overpowering numbers of infections arising due to the pandemic. Class IV employees work their fingers to the bone, and keep the wheels of an organisation rolling. The learners designed cards and posters on the canvas, to be finally handed over to the Class IV employees of the school as a mark of their industrious contribution to the school. An online webinar for a face-to-face interaction with their teachers helped the young learners put across their heart-felt thanks to the school guards, maids and sweepers, peons and gardeners. Principal Pooja Prakash encouraged learners to recognise the dignity of labour.


Tagore Global School, Kurukshetra

The school celebrated Labour Day to acknowledge the efforts of the sub staff of the school. Tiny tots of the pre-Primary section expressed their gratitude by role playing and emphasising the importance of dignity of labour. As a mark of respect, handmade cards and photoframes were presented to thank them and refreshments were also served. Principal Dr Jayeta Auddy said we all must learn to respect and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the working class.


AKSIPS-41 Smart School, Chd

The school celebrated 'International Labour Day' under 'AKSIPS-41 Legal Literacy Club' to acknowledge the contribution of Class IV employees. The event was organised to teach students to respect the people who work for them. Various activities were conducted online for different classes. Students of Pre-Primary, I, II and III had a special assembly on a virtual platform where children presented role play and fancy dresses of different helpers along with poem recitation and dance performance. Students of classes IV and V made beautiful 'Thank you card' and badges to express their gratitude towards health workers, plumbers, electricians etc. Students of Class VI spoke about the dignity of labour and classes VII and VIII participated in slogan writing competitions on the topic 'Dignity of Labour'. Class IX and X students conducted 'Essay Writing' activity on the topic 'Labour Day'. AKSIPS Group of Smart Schools Executive Director Jasdeep Kalra and Principal Ritu Bali lauded the efforts of students.


Delhi Public School, Ambala

The school celebrated International Labour Day on the theme 'Without labour nothing prospers' to salute the efforts of the labour force. Teachers briefed the children about Labour Day and its importance. The children expressed gratitude to the helpers like maids, drivers, peons, guards, gardeners, electricians etc. at their homes or on the campus. Tiny tots of the pre-Primary and Primary section celebrated the day by participating in fun-filled creative activities. They were involved in making 'Thank You' cards. The senior section students used their creative writing skills in various activities. Principal Amita Dhaka appreciated the efforts of students and said all activities were designed to foster a better understanding of the importance of labour community.
