Summer camps keep Josephites on a creative course

St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh organised a virtual summer camp for students. The camp included a number of activities that evoked an enthusiastic response from students. The students had a gala time unleashinh their innovative and creative selves. The students of Kindergarten tried their hand on ‘Cooking Without Fire’, tie and die handkerchiefs, painting mugs & T-shirts using vegetable blocks. Their foot-tapping moments in Happy Feet and Musical Melodies were a true feast for the eyes. School’s Primary 1 Block devised innovative activities that could be done by students with little or no help from their parents. Magic of Music with household things, creative craft, time for fitness with fun games as well as exploring a few wonders of science to develop critical thinking were some of the activities enjoyed by the little wonders.The middle block saw students converted into little chefs, and budding orators. Mathematics, science, and art and craft activities proved that life skills can be learned with fun learning. Rebus Puzzles, Spin — an-exercise, rang-manch took the students into an entirely different world, contributing to their physical and mental health positively. The Secondary section of the school also organised activities like 'Art Vista', 'Mind-Blowing Science' 'Toody Foody', 'Speak to Lead ', and 'Dream N Act' to give a holistic experience to the young Josephians. Keynote Speakers stole the limelight in ‘Adolescents Edutainment Camp’ organized by the Senior Secondary Block of the school. Eminent speakers from different walks of society shared life lessons with the youth willing to bring a change in the world they live in.

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh

Suhani Sharma secured the first position at the National Level of 'Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan'. She also secured the first place in the state and district Levels. This is a national programme for popularising science among schoolchildren of classes VI to XI using digital devices. It is designed to identify the bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student community.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

The school is full of jubilation and enthusiasm. Two teams of the school won first positions in Toycathon. These two teams 'Fun with Elements' and 'Number Ninjas' have been declared National winners. Toycathon, which was organised under the 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan' initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conceived to challenge India's innovative minds to conceptualise novel Toy and Games based on Bharatiya civilization, history, culture, mythology and ethos. It was an inter-ministerial effort organised by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell with support from the All-India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. The competition had got a huge response from more than one lakh participants. The competition had more than 60 themes. Team 'Number Ninjas' consisted of Meenakshi (Team Leader), Simple, Parul and Pallavi (Team members). Her team had competed under the theme 'SI'. The Team 'Fun with Elements' consisted of Ashu Gupta (Team Leader), Shipra Gupta (teacher) and Mansi Aggarwal (student). The team had competed under theme 'TYCH-50'. Both the teams blazed their way to the final round of the competition and won the top honours in their respective categories. Principal Gulshan Kaur congratulated both the teams and highlighted the need for emphasising the spirit of innovation so that our country emerges as a hub of innovation.

AKSIPS-45 Smart School, Mohali

Students observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by taking a pledge to stay away from drugs and live a healthy life. All students were apprised of the important data and facts about the drugs and also about its ill-effects. Students were encouraged to stay alert and away from the deadly menace.
