Elementary schools to remain shut in Himachal

Elementary schools (classes I to VIII) in the hill state will remain closed till the Covid-19 situation improved substantially, and there will will be no change in the vacation schedule (January 1 to February 12) for winter-closing schools.

  • Regular teaching for class IX to XII not to resume till Dec 31

As per the fresh guidelines issued by the Secretary, Education, today, the regular teaching for classes IX to XII will not resume till December 31, and the online second-term teaching will continue. The second-term online examinations for these classes will be held as scheduled from December 1.

High and secondary schools and colleges will function from November 26 and the principals will be at liberty to call teachers and other staff members as per the requirement.

The students of classes I to IV and classes VI and VII will be promoted on the basis of their formative and summative assessment while the final examinations of classes V, VIII, IX and XI would be held simultaneously for winter and summer-closing schools. The board examinations of classes X and XII will be held in March with 30 per cent reduced syllabus.
