Eco friendly Zero waste exhibition at Sacred Heart, Chandigarh

An earnest endeavour to aesthetically reuse newspapers was exemplified through an  art and creativity activity at Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh today. The 'Eco-friendly Zero Waste Exhibition.’ showcased various global themes like the eco system, war and peace, career options, Chandigarh: the city beautiful, women empowerment, etc. through 3-D models created with newspapers.

Dr Palika Arora, Director, Education School & Higher Education, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh graced the occasion. The ceremonial lamp was lighted by the chief guest along with Rev Sr. Lucy, the School Manager, Rev Sr. Arti, the Principal and Sr. Kusum, the Vice Principal. ‘Blessings’- the prayer dance and recital transcended the audience to a higher realm. ‘Expressions of Joy’ a dance drama depicted the eternal bond between nature and mankind.

Dr Palika Arora and the audience were impressed by the virtual tour of the creative world. The chief guest commended the school management, teachers and students for choosing a topic that calls for immediate attention of society. She fondly recalled her Sacred Heart 'schooling' and reiterated that the strongest foundation of the character is laid during the school days.

Rev Sr. Arti proposed the vote of thanks, she lauded the efforts of the teachers and students for putting up such a remarkable spectacle of creativity where imagination knew no bounds. She implored the students and their parentsto be the messengers of compassion and caregivers forthe green and blue planet.

The parents who visited the exhibition appreciated the handiwork of the Heartians.
