Show comments

Earth is such a beautiful world to live in. Formed around 4.5 billion years ago, this planet went through so many cycles of changes and is the planet we know of today. We have over 8.7 million species on land, which comprises 6.5 million on land and 2.2 million in the ocean.

A haunting dream for researchers

This area is known to many species of aquatic life that could be dangerous to life and it is the most difficult area to research. Why? The pressure of man on the ground is 760 mm Hg. This allows proper blood flow in the body. To go deep in to the sea, we need a suit that can withstand the heavy pressure of the sea. The deeper you decide to go, the thicker, the suit has to be. The point that really scares researchers is called the Mariana Trench, home to the wildest and secretive species on Earth.

The Human population stands at 7.2 billion. The Earth is such a vast piece of art, there is so much that mankind hasn't discovered and we are just entering into a phase where we will all learn about the secrets of life on this planet.

Have you ever heard about the deepest point on earth? This area is known to many species of aquatic life that could be dangerous to life and it is the most difficult area to research. Why? The pressure of man on the ground is 760 mm Hg. This allows proper blood flow in the body. To go deep in to the sea, we need a suit that can withstand the heavy pressure of the sea. The deeper you decide to go, the thicker, the suit has to be. The point that really scares researchers is called the Mariana Trench, home to the wildest and secretive species on Earth.

The secret of the Life hides 10,000 km beneath the ocean surface. Home to unknown species, it is a rare sight to learn ones that can survive the pressure so huge. Comparing the pressure, if you put a metal box down the trench using a rope of 10,000 km's in length, it would probably come back crushed as paper. Now, that's scary!

It was discovered in the year 1960 year Don Walsh and Jacques Piccard in a boat called the Trieste. Some of the Species found here are the Viperfish, Barreleye, Dumbo Octopus, Goblin Shark and the list goes on. So the Next time, someone decides to enjoy their time trying to explore the Trench, you make sure that you teach them the dangerous world that lies beneath and the royal sights above.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • The Mariana Trench is believed to be one of the most ancient seabeds on the planet at approximately 180 million years old.
  • Scientist Jacques Piccard and US Navy Lieutenant Don Walsh earned the distinction of being the first people to reach the Challenger Deep in a deep boat. It happened in 1960.
  • It’s been named a US National Monument in 2009.
