An overwhelming result

Sharing their excitement and happiness, the achievers and their families called this year’s results ‘overwhelming and encouraging.’ “It’s was overwhelming result for us as a family for so many reasons,” shared Amardeep Gupta, father of district topper Deepanika. “Since the lockdown and cancellation of exams by CBSE due to Covid 19 induced conditions, the kids were under a lot of stress. But the result has motivated them for their academic future ahead,” he said. Sirjanpreet too said that she did expect a good result, but getting a position among top three in city is like an icing on the cake.

Manmeet Singh, father of Mehr Sethi, too, said that the results have relieved the stress of students as well as parents. “Past few months have been quite stressful as there was a lot of uncertainity. Also, we were contemplating on how the assessment will be done for exams this year and if it would do justice to the hard work put in by the children.”

Post result, the top rankers in city are working towards their future academic goals. Deepanika, who is currently pursuing Class XI from DAV International, said that she wants to take up non-medical stream and pursue engineering in future. She credited her academic success to her self study as she did not take any coaching or tuitions outside of school.

Joint second position holders in city, Mehr Sethi and Srijanpreet want to pursue non-science careers. Mehr wants to become a CA and her goal is to get admission in SRCC, the top ranked college in commerce stream in the country. Sirjanpreet wants to pursue psychology as she finds it an interesting subject with immense potential.

The only boy among the top three in city, Harkirat Chadda, who scored 98%, wants to take up non-medical and pursue research in the field of artificial intelligence.
