Class X exams in HP cancelled

Keeping in view the sharp surge in Covid-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh over the past few days, the annual examination of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Class X has been cancelled. A decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting held in Shimla on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. 

All students would be promoted to Class XI by the Board as per the norms suggested by CBSE for its students of Class X last week.

The Class XII examination of Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education and annual examination of colleges will also remain suspended till further orders.

The closure of educational institutions in the State has also been extended till May 31, 2021. TNS


Corona curfew till May 16

  • Grappling with a major spike in fatalities and positive cases, the Himachal Pradesh government today decided to impose corona curfew to break the transmission chain from May 6 midnight to May 16.
  • Expressing concern over the sharp surge in the number of covid cases in the State, Chief Minister said the decision had been taken to break the virus chain. “Our endeavour was to ensure that there is strict adherence to the covid norms without affecting livelihood and causing inconvenience to the public,” CM remarked.
  • During the curfew, all govt and private offices establishments will remain closed from May 7 to midnight of May 16.
