New Delhi, January 16
The Supreme Court on Thursday paved the way for an international airport at Mopa in north Goa as it lifted restrictions on construction activities and asked the state government and concessionaire GMR to comply with all environmental conditions under the supervision of National Environmental Engineering Research Institute.
“The additional conditions which have been imposed by the Expert Appraisal Committee of the Environment Ministry shall, together with the original conditions of the EC dated October 28, 2015, and the directions issued by the NGT be cumulatively observed,” a Bench ordered. — TNS
