Sangrur June 18

CM Bhagwant Mann on Saturday announced to transform Sangrur into a ‘model district’ of the state by bringing industries, smart educational institutes and hospitals with top-class facilities. He also sought votes for party candidate Gurmail Singh in the Lok Sabha bypoll.

“Sangrur was dubbed as a backward district, but now it will be transformed into a model one. We will develop smart schools, multi-speciality hospitals and boost industrialisation to generate jobs,” Mann said while addressing a gathering of traders and businessmen here.

Mann along with Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and other AAP leaders held meetings with traders in Sangrur, Baranala and Sunam.

The CM said an “e-government”, a single-window portal, would be launched to eliminate inordinate delays and corrupt practices in the process for getting approvals to set up businesses. “The portal will benefit the traders and businessmen availing all government services.”
