Moga, November 24

Dharamkot police station SHO Guljinder Singh and three others were injured in a clash between the policemen and protesters outside the police station in Moga on Monday night.

Rehrwan villagers, under the leadership of Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee president Sukhjit Singh Khosa, held a protest outside the police station, demanding a case of murder against the mining mafia who attacked village residents on November 3 in which a few persons were injured. They alleged that the police were protecting the mining mafia.

Jagsir Singh, one of the injured, later died on November 15. His family members along with protesters kept his body outside the police station, demanding action against the accused. When they tried to cremate the body, the policemen resorted to cane-charge. The police have registered an FIR against Khosa, Tarsem Singh and other protesters. — TNS
