Chandigarh, March 6

Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa on Wednesday condemned Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan for suspending nine MLAs belonging to the Opposition.

“It is a sheer violation of basic principles of the democracy. The government has been running away from the genuine questions of the party that’s why it suspended Congress MLAs. This undemocratic move will not be tolerated at any cost”, Bajwa added.

Bajwa said the party reminded AAP it’s eight pre-poll promises, including raising Rs 20,000 crore funds from mining annually, raising Rs 34,000 crore by ending corruption and Rs 1,000 per month to women.

“Before the Assembly elections in 2022, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal had promised not to take single rupee as a loan. However, as per their own documents, Rs 60,000 crore loan has been taken even though two years of term has yet to be completed. If the loan of February and March is included, it will Rs 67,000 crore”, Bajwa added.

Bajwa also sought details of 40,000 employees that the AAP government claimed to have recruited.
