Two arrested for making extortion calls to trader

The police today claimed to have arrested two men, who had allegedly made extortion calls to a local businessman by posing as aides of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and demanded Rs 30 lakh from him.

Those arrested have been identified as Sukhdeep Singh of Faridkot district and Mahinder Singh of Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan. Sukhdeep was working as an employee of complainant Sandeep Kumar at his shop in Bathinda. Mahinder is working in the electricity wing of the Railways in Bathinda.

Muktsar SP (D) Manmeet Singh Dhillon said after the complainant told them he was getting threatening phone calls, various teams were formed, which helped in arresting the accused.
