Abohar, February 27

The Wahabwala police seized 35 kg poppy husk from a mini truck that entered Abohar from Sadulshahar side and was checked at the Rajpura barrier.

ASI Sukhdev Singh said poppy husk was hidden under onion bags. A case was registered and driver Paramjit Singh of Arniwala in Fazilka was arrested.

Gajjan Singh of Fattuwala village was held near Panjawa canal bridge with 105 gm of smack, which he claimed to have bought from Amarjit Singh of Phallianwala village. In the case registered under the NDPS Act at Hindumalkot police station near Abohar, Amarjit was also enlisted as co-accused.

The police seized 85 gm of opium from Sunny Jassal of Nathan Wali village and listed Nitesh Kumar in the case registered under the NDPS Act as Sunny claimed that Nitesh supplied opium to him at Prabhu Chowk in Sriganganagar.
