Fatehgarh Sahib, May 3

Amid a surge in Covid cases, hospital beds are required for patients but the top floor of the Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, has been occupied by the civil surgeon and his staff. The state government should immediately shift the office out of the hospital, Bir Devinder Singh, former Deputy Speaker, said here today.

He said he had written to the Secretary, Health, in this regard. The Civil Hospital SMO said the 100-bed facility had only 70 beds available due to the civil surgeon’s office in one block. — TNS
