SGPC condemns attack on Sikhs in United States

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has strongly condemned the attack on two Sikhs in the United States and appealed the Government of India to ensure safety of Sikhs living abroad.

Harjinder Singh Dhami, president, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, expressed deep concern over the recent attack.

He added that a few days ago, an elderly Sikh was attacked and injured by two unidentified persons at Richmond Hill, New York. Now, two Sikhs have been attacked in the same area once again, he said.

He said the Sikh ideology seeks welfare of humanity. Dhammi added that Sikhs always play a constructive role in the form of assistance during difficult times witnessed by humans around the world.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president said the Sikh diaspora has made a great contribution in growth of the countries they reside and their safety must be ensured by the authorities concerned.
