Ropar school principal 'involved in molesting' students suspended

A large number of residents, including members of social organisations, today staged a protest, demanding arrest of a teacher allegedly involved in molesting students.

On August 5, more than 10 parents had reached the school and alleged the teacher had molested their wards and even sent obscene messages on their cellphones.

After the matter was highlighted, the police recorded statement of a victim in a case registered under Section 354 of the IPC, the IT Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Today again, the aggrieved parents reached the school and demanded removal of the principal alleging she was pressurising them to withdraw the complaint against the teacher.

The school management suspended the principal till completion of the inquiry against her.

The police assured the protesters that the teacher would be held soon.
