Chandigarh, May 15

In all, 13 fresh cases were reported in the state on Friday. The total count has reached 1,932.

The count was 1,935 on Thursday. However, the state excluded 34 cases of RPF personnel, who were found positive in Ludhiana, from the state count. They have been added in the central pool due to which the number has declined as compared to yesterday.

As per the media bulletin released today, six cases were reported from Faridkot, three from Fazilka and one each from Ludhiana, Bathinda, Ropar and Fatehgarh Sahib.

Apart from that, the state witnessed a jump in the number of patients who were discharged after getting treatment.

On Friday, 508 patients were discharged from various quarantine centres.

Thus, the total number of patients who have recovered from the disease has reached 731.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the district administration decided to discharge 15 more patients who were tested positive in their second test, but were asymptomatic for the past three days.

Later, when health officials opposed the move, they were not discharged.
