Punjab Government promotes 4 IPS officers to DGP rank

With these promotions, Punjab Police now have eight DGPs

Chandigarh, June 23

The Punjab Government on Thursday promoted four IPS officers of the 1992 batch to the rank of Director-General of Police (DGP).

With these promotions, the state police now have eight DGPs.

Those promoted today are Sharad Satya Chauhan, Harpreet Singh Sidhu, Gaurav Yadav and Kuldeep Singh. While Chauhan is heading the security wing, Sidhu is head of the Prisons Department. Yadav is posted as Special Principal Secretary to CM Bhagwant Mann and Kuldeep Singh is in-charge of the Internal Vigilance Cell.

Yadav is son-in-law of former DGP PC Dogra and IAS/IPS/IRS training batchmate of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
