Punjab farmer found murdered at Tikri border

 A 61-year-old farmer was found murdered near new bus stand at the Tikri-Bahadurgarh border on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Hakam Singh of Patti Fuddu village in Bathinda district.

“Hakam’s body bearing injury marks on the neck inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon was recovered from a farm in the evening. Prime facie, it seems to be a case of murder, but exact cause of the death will be ascertained after the post-mortem,” said a police official, adding that the body had been kept in the mortuary of Civil Hospital in Bahadurgarh town.

He maintained that investigation was under way and the case was yet to be registered.
