Chandigarh, July 1

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday allowed the regular bail plea in an Enforcement Directorate case filed by Bhupinder Singh alias Honey, former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew.

His plea against the Directorate of Enforcement was placed before Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan’s Bench. After hearing the contentions in detail and going through the documents, Justice Sangwan granted bail.

He was, among others, represented in the High Court by senior advocate Bipin Ghai.

Honey was arrested by the ED in February this year. Honey has all along been saying that the state police had already probed the allegations against him and submitted a final report; and the FIR registered in the case by the central agency was nothing but an abuse of process of law.
