Agnipath scheme: Ploy to hand over defence sector to Ambani, Adani, says Shiromani Akali Dal

Backing the youth protesting against the Centre’s Agnipath scheme, the SAD termed it as a conspiracy to hand over the defence sector to Ambani and Adani. Taking serious note of the issue, a meeting of the SAD core panel would be convened soon to decide on the next course of action, said Gurjit Singh Talwandi, SAD spokesperson.

He warned the Centre of its dire consequences and said if the decision wasn’t revoked, the youth would be compelled to take matters into their own hands. He said it was a reflection of the BJP’s unsympathetic attitude towards the security and threats to the country. “The border states, especially Punjab and J&K, will become easy targets of the enemy when no trained or committed personnel will be deployed there.”
