Pathankot, April 7

Pathankot Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sanyam Aggarwal brokered an agreement between Shahpur Kandi dam officials and members of the Dam Oustees Sangharsh Committee, following which two octogenarians, who had perched atop a BSNL communication tower for the past several days, agreed to come down.

Saram Singh and Kulwinder Singh had made their way to the top of the 150-foot tower last Tuesday.

Following the written agreement, Aggarwal will forward Khaira’s recommendations to the State Irrigation Department. — TNS
