Moga, June 15

The appointment quota for normal passport applications (fresh and renewal) at the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK), Moga, has been increased to 80 per day from earlier 60 slots to facilitate applicants to avail the services in a smooth and hassle-free manner.

Regional Passport Officer (RPO), Jalandhar, Yash Pal said a request was made to the Ministry of External Affairs by the Jalandhar RPO office to increase the slots for passport services, which had been accepted with the addition of 20 new slots per day.

Reiterating his commitment to providing prompt services, the RPO said a slew of measures had been undertaken by the Jalandhar RPO office for hassle-free services to applicants.

The applicants could check and book their passport and PCC appointment directly at www.passportindia.gov.in after applying and making payments online, he said, adding people need not consult middlemen for the services as the passport office had not authorised any institution or individual to provide the services.

He advised people to stay away from such persons making false commitments with respect to passport-related services and avail the services directly through official portal.
