Bathinda/Mansa, June 16

Paddy sowing in the Malwa region — Mansa, Bathinda, Sangrur, Moga, Barnala, Muktsar, Faridkot, Patiala, Malerkotla, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh, Ferozepur and Fazilka — will start from Friday.

PSPCL officials said the farmers would get eight-hour uninterrupted supply from midnight. On this, the government has issued regular orders to run the Talwandi Sabo and Lehra Mohabbat thermal plants.

For the first time, the state has started zone-wise paddy sowing, which started in the border belt on June 14.
