Over 2 cr jabbed in Punjab so far: Dy CM OP Soni

The state has administered over two crore doses of Covid vaccine so far. Saying this here today, Deputy CM Om Parkash Soni said so far 1.48 crore people in the state had received the first dose of the vaccine, while 52 lakh got both the doses.

Soni, who also holds the Health portfolio, said 2.16 lakh people got vaccinated on Tuesday alone. “Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur and Patiala are the top five districts in immunisation so far,” he said, adding that 1.77 crore doses of Covishield and 23 lakh doses of Covaxin had been administered in the state so far.

Meanwhile, he also flagged off 30 new ambulances for the Zigitza Healthcare Ltd, in the presence of MLAs and Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary Alok Shekhar and PHSC managing director Amit Kumar. — TNS
