AMRITSAR, DECEMBER 23

Two Covid positive cases were detected in the district on Friday.

The Health Department took samples for their genomic sequencing to detect the virus.

The government hospitals also started RT-PCR tests for all indoor patients being admitted today.

Dr Charanjit Singh, Civil Surgeon, said of the 403, two persons were found positive. Both did not have any travel history. One of them is 30-year-old resident of an urban area and another is 60-year-old native of a rural belt.

The staff in all government offices have been asked to wear masks.

The department instructed all government and private hospitals to carry out tests of all those patients who were found suffering from fever, cough and cold.
