Nathana CHC staff want SMO shifted

Allege harassment, misbehaviour with patients

Alleging harassment by the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), staff of the Nathana Community Health Centre (CHC) staged a protest, demanding his transfer. The protesting staff also accused him of misbehaviour with patients.

Ranjit Singh Khaira, naib tehsildar, Nathana, reached the spot and interacted with protesters. They told him they could work in an environment where they were being harassed by the SMO of the health centre.

The staff members had also given a written complaint to MLA Master Jagsir Singh and the Civil Surgeon, demanding action against the official on May 18, but nothing had been done in the matter till now, rued the health centre staff.

After being assured by the naib tehsildar that the required action would be taken, the staff members called off the protest.
