Mobiles seized from Nabha jail

In a joint operation with the Superintendent of Nabha jail, the police on Thursday conducted a surprise check of some barracks where terror accused undergoing sentence are lodged.

During the search operations of barrack No. 6, the team recovered eight smartphones, four keypad mobile phones, three mobile dongles, two batteries, 14 chargers and eight headphones. Many of the inmates from whose barracks the mobiles were recovered are already on fast demanding that fellow inmates, who were transferred from the jail following intelligence inputs, be shifted back.

“We also recovered seven earphones from Ward No. 6 and 6A where the inmates presently on hunger strike are lodged,” said Ramanjit Bhango, Superintendent, Nabha jail. SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu confirmed the raid. — TNS
