Man held for abetting wife’s suicide

The police have arrested Rajinder Kumar for allegedly abetting the suicide of his wife.

A case was registered last week against the in-laws of Mamta (28) for abetting her suicide, after her body was found hanging at their house in Kallarkhera village on Thursday.

In the case registered under Sections 306 and 34 of the IPC at the Khuyiansarwer police station, on the statement of Raj Kumar of Rawatsar, Mamta’s husband Rajinder Kumar, his brother Pawan Kumar, father Sahib Ram and mother Sharda were named.

Raj Kumar said his daughter got married to Rajinder Kumar on July 13, 2017. Mamta had complained of harassment by her in-laws many times, he said. Her parents had also intervened to settle the issues, but to no respite, forcing her to end her life, he said. — OC
