Liquor seized, cop among 2 booked

Muktsar: The Lambi police on Friday booked a constable and a Home Guard jawan for allegedly smuggling liquor from Haryana. As per the FIR, constable Sukhmander Singh and Home Guard Najar Singh were travelling in a car, which was intercepted by a police team at Killianwali. The cops seized 36 bottles of liquor from their possession. A case under various sections of the Excise Act has been registered in this regard. — TNS
